Our Parks - Sampson Park
With the hard work of an Eagle Scout, his family, friends, and an AHG mentor, a native pollinator garden was planted in Sampson Park in July 2024. It now has a relatively diverse mix of 18 species of flowers, grasses & sedges. Though it’s going to take a couple years to fill in, a few plants (such as this hyssop) are already benefiting local bumblebees, and the black-eyed susan and tall bellflower should look really good next year.
Weeds are going to be a problem for the first couple years. If you can help, please contact us. (We have mentors who can help you learn which plants are the weeds.)
