Support
There are a lot of ways that volunteers can help park restoration efforts. If you are interested in any of these, please contact us.
Physical Support
- Garlic mustard removal (May & June)
- Buckthorn removal crews (July-Oct.)
- Cutting
- Hauling/piling brush
- Herbicide application (similar to a bingo dauber)
- Work event greeter or snack provider
- Independent park stewards - If you want to remove invasive species but prefer to work independently, on your own schedule, contact us. We are attempting to develop an Adopt-A-Spot program.
- Invasive species scouts - notify us of locations of invasive species infestations in our parks & along the trails
- Monitoring teams - work as a group to collect data on species in our parks * Monitoring protocols have not yet been developed, but should be ready sometime this spring.
- Plants
- Birds
- Bees & other pollinators
- Bats
- Plant growers
- Transplanting seedlings into plug trays (April & May)
- Growers - keeping the seedlings watered over the summer, if you have space for a 4’x8’ bench in a partly shady spot in your yard
- Planters - help get the plants in the ground in the fall
Financial Support
Tax-deductible contributions can be made through the Arden Hills Foundation. Make sure you tell them that the money is for Arden Hills Greening and if it should be earmarked for a specific project.
Organizational Support
We have several leadership opportunities within the group. Contact us if you would like to discuss what roles are open and what you're interested in.
