Our Parks - Crepeau Nature Preserve
For those who enjoy getting out in nature, Crepeau is one of the hidden gems of Arden Hills. But, like all of our natural areas, it has been neglected too long and has become overrun with noxious weeds such as common buckthorn, non-native honeysuckle, and garlic mustard. It can be restored, but it's going to take time and effort.
This section of trail had become so overgrown with buckthorn that it was hard to find the trail, let alone walk on it. But volunteers started clearing this section in September '24. If we can cut more and get help from the city in 2025 with spraying buckthorn resprouts, then we can start the process of restoring this area with native vegetation. (fingers crossed)
